Dominico Clerico Barolo Percristina 2000 - First Bottle

Reviews

100 Wine Spectator -
Dark ruby color, with fabulous aromas of blackberries, toasted oak and cedar. Turns to fresh herbs and wild berries. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and lots of ripe fruit. Amazing finish of toasted oak. The greatest wine ever from Clerico. First made in 1995. Breathtaking.
93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
This bottle of the 2000 Barolo Percristina offers intense, exotic sensations of super-ripe fruit, menthol and minerals, with an opulent open-knit personality and superb persistence on the palate. Hard to resist now, it will be even better in a few years.
92 Vinous -
The most complex today on the nose of Clerico's three 2000 Barolos, with notes of smoky red fruits and nuts. Sweet, smooth and seamless, with a glyceral texture that really captures the richness of the vintage. Highly concentrated wine but without the sheer verve and grip of the '99. Finishes with big, rich tannins and impressive length.

The rare 100-point score from Wine Spectator. A true rarity and an absolute gem of a wine! In fact, only 59 wines have ever received a one-hundred-point score in the history of the publication. That means it is in rarefied air next to the likes of 1989 Petrus and Haut Brion or 1859 Yquem...so, it might be cool to have a few of these bad boys in your cellar.
