Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Cohn Vineyard Russian River Valley 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Wine Spectator -
Rustic and edgy, with extracted, firmly tannic wild berry, cherry and earth-scented plum and blueberry flavors. Slow to unfold, but impressive overall. Drink now through 2022. 88 cases made.
93 Vinous -
Once again, the Pinot Noir Cohn Vineyard is one of the most unique wines in the range. Exotic and totally alluring in its aromatic, the Cohn has a wildness to it that I find compelling. A host of blood orange, rose petal and sweet red cherry notes soar from the glass in a lift, aromatically intense Pinot loaded with personality. This is an eccentric style for the Russian River, but it all works nicely. Kosa Browne has a long associated with Cohn, as it was the source of the first KB Pinot.
92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Coming from the Russian River Valley, the 88-case 2014 Pinot Noir Cohn Vineyard offers a medium-bodied, savory and mineral-laced style as well as lots of white pepper, strawberry, spice and assorted red fruits. Elegant, lightly textured, graceful and with fine tannin, it will cruise in the cellar through 2024+. The cuvee saw 43% new French oak.

About the Producer

Truly great wines are born in the vineyard. Over the years, Kosta Browne made it their business to find incredible growers and vineyards in key appellations throughout California. Every vintage a story is told of these chosen vineyards through the medium of wine. Their efforts reflect the character in some way, of every person and every vineyard site; the shared experiences of that year. Kosta Browne's appellation blends are inspired by a desire to capture the specific beauty of each of these growing regions. Kosta Browne produces three appellation Pinot Noirs - Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Santa Lucia Highlands, and one Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley.
