Domaine Baron Thenard Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Burghound -
A notably spicy and beautifully layered nose of both red and dark berries, anise, sandalwood and discreet floral hints. The textured and very rich medium weight plus flavors possess solid levels of dry extract which helps to buffer the firm tannins that emerge on the robust, powerful and impressively long finish. This will also require at least 6 to 8 years to be approachable and 12 to 15 to arrive at its full majority.

About the Producer

Domaine Baron Thenard is well connected, he primarily sells off his incredible parcels of fine Burgundy for top dollar. He just so happens to be the second largest landowner of Le Montrachet! With his primary focus out in the Givry, where he owns over 40 acres under vine, Jean-Baptiste Bordeaux-Montrieux also has some 12 acres in the Cote d'Or including a killer parcel of Grands Echezeaux, Corton and, of course...Montrachet.
