Stephane Vedeau's entry-level CdP is the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Vendange. It's about 80% Grenache and boasts classic regional notes of lavender and rosemary layered over strawberry and raspberry fruit. It's full-bodied and supple, yet it remains fresh, buttressed by hints of orange zest on the long, silky finish. Already approachable, it should drink well for a decade or more. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.

This is quite simply classic Chateauneuf that straddles the line of “modern” and "traditional" beautifully, and in ‘16, it is in full bloom. Warm raspberry and raspberry liquor, kirsch, garrigue and strawberry pith with great purity and intensity. This has Stephane’s signature complexity and depth of flavor that gives it incredible length and class. BRAVO! About the Producer

La Ferme du Mont was founded quite recently by Stephane Vedeau. At first, they began operation in Courthezon, before shifting their headquarters to Valres in 2010. The change coincided with the purchase of Clos Petit Bellane from Olivier Peuchot. The initial vintages, 2005 and 2006 were produced in a partnership with Coralie Gourmarre of Domaine Galevan. From that point forward, Stephane Vedeau began producing the wines of La Ferme du Mont on his own. La Ferme du Mont is a negociant company that owns some vines in the region. They also rent vineyards and purchase grapes from growers in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation.
