Penfolds Shiraz RWT Bin 798 Barossa Valley 2015
First off -- please move quick if you’d like some of this...we have just a few. It is SPECTACULAR, flashy, wonderful stuff!
In brief, for the uninitiated: RWT stands for “Red Winemaking Trial”, begun in 1995, as the Penfolds winemaking team’s alternative style to Grange. After some years of tweaking, it was made official in 2000 with the rare 1997. Main difference? RWT is a single region (Barossa) and matured in French oak as opposed to Grange which is multi-regional and is always all American oak. It is more lush, showy and hedonistic. Think along the lines of your favorite $250+ Napa Cabernet, or perhaps something Syrah-based from Sine Qua Non. Oh yes, it is that good. This wine stopped us in our tracks!
We have a very fine price, the BEST. $124.95 per bottle. 6-PACK wooden cases on request. FREE SHIPPING on 6. Scores, you ask? Press? JS97, JH97, D96, WA95+, WS94! How’s that?! Read the detailed reviews below.
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED...in stock and ready to go. Awesome way to start the week! We do have a few other carefully chosen Aussie reds of note -- browse them here, if you like, and if you need a couple of less expensive ones to fill out a 6-pack for free shipping, check this bad boy out (what a steal!)...Let us know what we can do!
