Bodega Alandes Paradoux White 6th Edition NV
Karim Mussi is quickly building a reputation as one of the most sought after winemakers in the Southern Hemisphere. This is his sixth crack at the Bodega Alandes white blend...and these keep getting better! 95 POINTS – this is some seriously complex stuff!
White wines of this depth and purity are rare enough in the wine world – we’d put this in a class that would include Château Carbonnieux, Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Peter Michael, Spottswoode, etc. Epic houses all, producing sophisticated, polished, intense, elegant, and finely crafted wines that drink way WAY above their price point. And THIS! Under $25 for a white of this quality and ageability is something special...just wait until you try this!
Paradoux Blanco is a multi-vintage blend crafted with a solera-style reserve of vintages going back several years. The blend for this release is roughly two-thirds semillon and one-third sauvignon blanc – all fermented and aged in barrel. It soars with stylish, creamy, concentrated flavors of lime zest, smoked hay, delicate honeysuckle, and wooly lanolin, with amazing tension between the acidity and the creaminess. The oak is present yet so well-handled, it just adds another dimension that develops over the long, contemplative finish.
This is something special that should drink well over the next decade! Of course, we’re big fans already, and this wine is drinking spectacularly right now! See why the critics are raving about this wine and we’re certain you’ll become a fan yourself!
