Medium-bodied with juicy fruit, chocolate and spice. Some walnuts. Dried mushrooms, too. It’s long and flavorful. Drink now.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

It’s hard to overstate the excellence of the 2016 vintage in Italy (and frankly most of the winegrowing world). Lush, fresh, balanced - all the good stuff in one. This is an incredible buy, redolent of Tuscan sunshine, a Classico to drink alone or with any simple, satisfying food. So good -- $15.95...amazing!

Villa a Sesta is a gorgeous, ancient village (population 12) of Etruscan origins, set into the hills of Siena and a serious up-and-comer in the world of fine Chianti (one of the world's finest values right now). We visited them in November, and the wines are simply ON FIRE. Look for more Villa a Sesta from First Bottle in the future...we are hooked!

Roses, violets, savory blackberry/cherry and toasty spice. We bought every case we could. FREE SHIPPING on 6 bottles - that is $90 a 6-PACK! While it lasts…!

PAIRING IDEAS: We’re still tweaking and perfecting our cacio e pepe recipe – 5 ingredients, but pretty hard to nail. The key is using a lot more pasta water than you think, and tossing like crazy. Even if imperfect, it’s what to make for this lovely wine, unless you have your favorite bolognese recipe (doesn’t everyone?). Either way, you can’t go wrong!

MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: Check out "Fix Yourself, Not the World" by The Wombats from Liverpool. Just released -- a little modern, a little funky, a little sappy. Dig it!

About the Producer

In one of the most beautiful locations, Villa a Sesta is located in the heart of Tuscany between the provinces of Siena, Arezzo and Florence. The winery was recently renovated and represents the perfect fusion of tradition and modernism. The property extends more than 1,100 hectares of land with 50 hectares made up of vineyards. The composition of the soil, slope, altitude, sun exposure, ventilation, particular microclimate and grape selection are fundamental elements for achieving the quality of Villa a Sesta wines. If you're ever in Italy, I would suggest visiting this extravagant estate. A hospitality dream, the estate has a spa, restaurant and polo matches on the premise. Booking my ticket now!
