The Debate Cabernet Sauvignon Three Pack 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

97 Wine Enthusiast -
The Debate Artalade Montagna Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: "Refined tannin and integrated fruit mark this lovely, full-bodied wine, which is 100% varietal and made in tiny amounts. Leather, tobacco and cedar highlight a lengthy and elegant core seething in cassis and currant, with a touch of oak and dark chocolate on the finish. "
97 Wine Enthusiast -
The Debate Sacrashe Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: "Thick and concentrated in red berry and cassis, this wine features oak that is moderate yet present, with a mineral-like underbelly of stone and earth. Granular, muscular and lasting in baking spice, tea and clove, it showcases the great site, the vintage and the winemaking all in one with ease and elegance. "
96 Wine Enthusiast -
The Debate Denali Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: "Hugely concentrated and woody, with impressive hints of cedar, clove, pencil and dried herb, this wine is lengthy and thick in dark brooding fruit. The power is wrapped in structure and freshness, allowing room for the wine to breathe and find balance. This is a good candidate for cellaring; enjoy best from 2028–2038. "

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

Jean Hoefliger’s astounding 2018s are out today and WHOA! First access to the 2018s, the highest rated Napa vintage in Wine Spectator history! Collectors! Too many 95-100 point scores to count from his various projects, but Debate is special. The concept, of course, is to make 3 wines exactly the same way, from 3 distinct vineyards around Napa Valley -- Artalade Montagna, on Pritchard Hill (owned by Bob Long), Sacrashe, at the top of the hill in Rutherford looking down on Auberge du Soleil (and next to Sloan, FYI), and Denali, above the Joseph Phelps winery on the eastern side of St. Helena.

Ultra-rare and collectible (we only have 12 to sell!), this is a beautiful horizontal of Napa Valley’s finest, and a very fun (!) way to explore the region. Get a few of your best buds together and have an epic night of Cabernet! Check out the reviews below, but know this will go in a flash!! Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck, Vinous and James Suckling reviews are all still yet to be released, but after tasting these, we can say that some big numbers are coming!

About the Producer

Wines, like people, are a reflection of their origin and evolution. By selecting three different vineyards with three different expressions of Napa Valley Cabernet Franc, and making them in the same way, the Debate seeks to point out the diversity of terroir as well as the diversity of people. We live in an age where less and less time is spent at the dinner table discussing these different points of view. The Debate's mission is to bring people together to share a glass of wine to discuss and debate just as our team does. Proprietor Rob McKay partnered with the venerable Jean Hoefliger to craft his vision. Quickly these wines have garnered tremendous critical success and a cult following. Let the Debate begin!
