Champagne Aubry Le Nombre d'Or Campaniae Veteres Vites Brut 2014
Read the Vinous review first -- 94 points! It breaks down the unusual grapes used in this wonderfully complex and harmonious Champagne. Aubry is nothing if not truly pioneering since their inception in 1790, with 16.5 hectares from 60 individual locations to work with, and a focus recently on an almost archaeological search for old plant varieties. They have succeeded in making a brilliant Champagne out of three forgotten grape types: Pinot Blanc, Arbanne, Petit Meslier, and more. THIS cuvee is a shining star and hard to find outside France, so we are beyond thrilled to have a few cases to offer today, not to mention the VERY FINE PRICE.
Champagne connoisseurs, geeks and collectors...this is the one to get today! Super limited, while it lasts!
PAIRING IDEAS: There’s so much fragrant citrus and flowery notes in this luscious wine. We want to let it SHINE, so our pick would be simple seared scallops with a light citrusy sauce.
MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: We're playing the new Leon Bridges' album "Gold-Diggers Sound" this morning -- check out "Steam"!
