Hobel Cabernet Sauvignon The Figure 2018

THAT is an amazing deal for a wine of this caliber...while it lasts…! Both Cameron Hobel and Thomas Rivers Brown we count as personal friends (hey, this IS a small Valley!). Cameron was working as the Director of Business Development at Winebid and Thomas was working as Assistant Winemaker at Turley Wine Cellars. We were firing up our first online wine company in 2000, and naturally, we all eventually started hanging out!

Thomas makes a bazillion Napa Cabs, of course, he is one of the finest winemakers here in a generation. For Cameron’s wine though, it just packs a punch while being supremely silky and fine. We have a silky fine price, too, and we HIGHLY recommend it! Google some recent Hobel scores and reviews...we’re not the only ones who love it! 

There are a scant 224 cases, 100% Cabernet from the Pozzan vineyard in Calistoga. Here are TRB’s words on it: “I may sound like a bit of a broken record but every year of vine age and added attention to farming in the Pozzan Vineyard is really paying off for The Figure bottling. Our predictions of what was to come for the 2018 Figure after early sampling from barrel have come true. The Figure is deeply colored, with layers of dense fruit and an exotic perfume. It still has plenty left in reserve to unwind with some cellar time. If you loved the 2016 Figure, the 2018 is several steps up and a great candidate for cellaring.”
