Mount Eden Vineyards Chardonnay Santa Cruz Mountains 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate -
The 2014 Chardonnay Estate from Mount Eden is terrific, offering up a youthful bouquet of buttered apples, pear, toasted nuts and brioche that reveals more and more nuance as it sits in the glass. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, pure and racy, with a satiny attack, deep core and bright acids. The finish is long and mouthwateringly chalky. This is one of the best recent releases of the Estate Chardonnay, and it comes warmly recommended.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Dead-serious Chardonnay. 96 points! Toasty but in a hazelnutty Burgundian way, this rockets across the palate. Did we mention 96 points?

About the Producer

Mount Eden Vineyards is a small historic wine estate perched at 2000 feet overlooking Silicon Valley in the Santa Cruz Mountain Appellation, about 50 miles south of San Francisco. Founded in 1945, it is recognized as one of the original boutique California wineries, focusing on small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mount Eden's lineage of estate bottled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is the longest in California. Since 1981 Jeffrey Patterson has guided the winemaking and grape growing at Mount Eden. His emphasis is on wine growing rather than winemaking; and an obsession with gentleness and naturalness in the cellar, his wines are full of nuance and subtlety.
