Reviews

94 Wine Enthusiast -
Produced from old vines in the Grand Cru vineyards of Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs, this is a beautifully crisp, ripe wine, showing taut fruit and fine, stylish acidity. As a Special Club bottling, it adheres to stringent qualitative guidelines set out by an elite group of growers. Still young, it will be best from 2019.

About the Producer

Since the 18th century, the Champion family has been growing grapes from father to son and all the harvest has been sold to negociants. But four generations ago, the family began producing its own Champagne. The history of the family started with Andre Champion in 1929. Later, the founder considerably increased his vineyard on the terroir of Chouilly, in the famous Cote des Blancs, on the best soils for the renowned Chardonnay grape. Upon his death Roland Champion took over and changed the name to Champagne Roland Champion in 1951. These wines are mostly gobbled up in Paris so we encourage you to check this small grower producer out.
