No winery more thoroughly embodies the timeless appeal and seductive flavor of Napa Valley than Beringer Vineyards. For lovers of Howell Mountain Cab and truly exemplary expressions of terroir, we have 2-packs from two of Napa’s simply greatest vintages of 2018 and 2019 from one of Beringer’s most prized single-vineyard sites!

Beringer has been making wine since 1876 and is the oldest continually operating winery in the Valley, built on 140 years of winemaking tradition. Their location in the heart of St. Helena is a California Historic landmark, and their reputation as one of the top California wineries has endured for decades. While their Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon typically receives a great deal of (well-deserved) hype, we’re just as partial to some of their exceptional single-vineyard bottlings, a la these immaculate, 96-points-apiece 2018 and 2019 Bancroft Ranch Vineyard Cabernets from Howell Mountain’s acclaimed white volcanic tufa soils.

Let’s start with the 2018 – as you may know, the highest rated vintage for Napa Cab of ALL time, according to Wine Spectator! This 96-point giant stands as a firm benchmark for the vintage, with its mineral intensity, firm structure, and forever ongoing depth. It’s all at once brooding, big, and yet incredibly poised, with buckets of black cherries, blackberries, black currants held together with bouts of dark chocolate, orange peel, and plush tannins.

Not to be outdone, the equally sophisticated 96 point 2019 – simply gorgeous and supple, with soft edges, quiet elegance, and incredible depth and substance, no doubt due to Bancroft’s magnificent white volcanic tufa soils. Strawberries and blackberries kick things off, alongside espresso and warm spice cake notes – this is decidedly different, yet just as mesmerizing as the 2018! Why would you ever settle for one when you can get both of these beauts for over $110 off typical retail?! Not much to go around... age them, drink them, but whatever you do, just don’t miss out on them!

About The Producer

Beringer is known for establishing many 'firsts' as leaders in the wine industry. Beringer was of the first gravity-fed facilities and among the first to operate using hand-dug caves and cellars. They were also the first to give public tours in 1934, starting a Napa Valley hospitality tradition, and are the first and only winery to have both a red and a white wine named #1 Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator Magazine.
