Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018 (cracked capsule) - First Bottle

Reviews

97 Decanter -
Nearly always served last in any tasting at the cellar, this is Pierre-Yves Colin Morey's most ambitious wine. Marked by limestone soils and its position higher up the slope between Puligny-Montrachet and Saint Aubin, this a brilliant wine from one of Burgundy's best white winemakers. Leesy, elegant and refined with understated power.
92-95 Burghound -
Like several wines in the range, this is quite firmly reduced and not readable. By contrast, there is a lovely sense of verve and freshness to the intense, racy and almost pungently mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors that possess focused power and even a sleek muscularity on the youthfully austere, serious and built-to-age finale. This is tightly wound and very compact at present and it's clear that this will need extended cellaring to reach its apogee.*Don't Miss!*
94+ Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Notes of sweet white flowers, pear, green apple and fresh bread introduce the 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, layered and satiny wine that's fleshy but incisive, with a nicely controlled, racy profile, concluding with a saline, mineral finish.

Mineral-driven, bouncy, life altering chardonnay that can’t be found at a price like this. We’re catching apples and white fruit on the nose, a freshness that floats above and takes it to a new level of complexity that will become all the better with extended cellaring.
