Leonetti Cellar Sangiovese Walla Walla Valley 2019 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 James Suckling -
Aromas of sweet black cherry, tobacco leaf and ground baking spice. Medum-bodied with tight, fine tannins. Bright, driving acidity and white-pepper spice. Juicy. While the fruit is rich it does not weigh the palate down, but stays lifted throughout.

About the Producer

Leonetti Cellar has an inspiring history that traces back to the early 1970s, when Gary and Nancy Figgins set out to establish their winemaking legacy in Walla Walla Valley, Washington. Founded in 1977, Leonetti Cellar became one of the first wineries in the region, playing a pivotal role in putting Walla Walla on the map as a premier wine-producing area. Gary Figgins' dedication to quality and his meticulous approach to winemaking swiftly gained recognition, and Leonetti Cellar's inaugural vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon in 1978 garnered critical acclaim, setting the stage for the winery's rise to prominence. Through the decades, Leonetti Cellar remained steadfast in its commitment to crafting outstanding wines, focusing on Bordeaux varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. With each vintage, the family-run winery continued to refine its art, becoming a symbol of excellence and a benchmark for top-tier Washington wines. Today, Leonetti Cellar stands tall as a beloved institution, embodying the Figgins family's passion and dedication to producing some of the finest wines that Washington state has to offer.
