Fairchild George III Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Not to be missed is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon G-III, which comes from the Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III. This shows notes of roasted coffee, blackcurrant fruit, is medium to full-bodied, with sweet tannin, toasty oak and a velvety finish. Drink it over the next decade or more.
92 Vinous -
The most powerful of the Fairchild Cabernets here, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges III races across the palate with intense dark fruit, grilled herbs, smoke and iron, all in a rich, powerful style built on serious intensity. The Georges III loses just a bit of persistence on the mid-palate and finish, but that is a relatively small critique for a wine that delivers so much pleasure.

About the Producer

Fairchild Wines represents a premium label, crafting exquisitely limited production wines sourced from some of Napa Valley's most esteemed vineyard sites. Its founder, Lawrence Fairchild, hails from Nebraska and pursued an Agriculture major at the University of Nebraska. Prior to delving into the world of wine, he made his mark on Capitol Hill, working during a part of the Reagan administration. Lawrence boasts a rich background in building start-ups and overseeing entrepreneurial ventures, one of which was eVine.com, a local early wine sales company established in 2000. Notably, Susan Boswell from Chateau Boswell and Shannon Salvestrin from Salvestrin Winery were part of the eVine team. The platform served as a business-to-business website, listing over 5,000 products from winery supply companies sourced from more than 200 suppliers.
