Reviews
Jeb Dunnuck
In the same ballpark quality-wise, the 2016 Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge Vineyard offers more smoked red and black fruits as well as some marine characteristics, spice, and ample brambly herbs. A richer, medium to full-bodied, flamboyant wine, it still has a terrific sense of elegance and purity. Aged 15 months in 25% new French oak, drink it over the coming 7-8 years.
Wine Enthusiast
This is an intriguing and excitingly exotic red, delicately layered and balanced in freshness. It opens in crisp blueberry and orange-zest characteristics seasoned in baking spice and cardamom, finishing with as much elegance as it begins.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge slides seductively out of the glass with floral notions of of red roses, lilacs and potpourri with a core of black cherries, black raspberries, underbrush and kirsch plus hints of black tea, wild thyme and unsmoked tobacco. Medium-bodied, fine, refreshing and delicately styled, it has a wonderfully plush frame and long, fragrant finish.
Wine Spectator
Pure and powerfully juicy, with concentrated red plum, currant jelly and dried strawberry flavors that are well-framed by toasty notes. The supple finish offers vibrant minerality. Drink now through 2023. 3,000 cases made.
