Bergstrom Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch 2016 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Vinous -
Brilliant magenta color. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes fresh cherry, dark berries, rose oil and peppery spices, along with subtle earth and savory herb nuances. Round and seamless in texture, offering lively blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that pick up licorice and bitter chocolate notes on the back half. Shows sharp definition and spicy lift on the impressively persistent finish, which is given shape by dusty, slowly building tannins.
92 Wine and Spirits -
This is quietly earthy, the scents of underbrush holding a suggestion of cherries. After two days open, the wine emerges with more confidence, the texture suave, the fruit burnished by notes of redwood and cedar finely meshed with oak tannins. It still needs cellar time to come together.
91 Wine Spectator -
Focused and well-built, with broad black raspberry, pepper and black tea flavors that take on richness toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2023.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Single-vineyard Yamhill BIO brilliance at the lowest pricing out there. Vinous 93 points and a superb vintage to boot --- we have but a few cases to sell! You simply don't see pricing like this from such an iconic producer. Wine Spectator has gone so far as to call them "one of the top Pinot producers in Willamette Valley."

Bergström fans are fiercely passionate -- it’s one of the reasons this wine is so hard to find and a huge portion is allocated to restaurants across the country. We’re mighty lucky to have a bit -- if you know this wine, we suggest moving quick!

Josh Bergström honed his skills in Burgundy, and the wines have that sensibility. But in a warm, wonderful vintage like 2016, this is a spectacularly complex and spicy bottling from the biodynamically-farmed Gregory Ranch in the Yamhill-Carlton appellation.

That’s pretty much nailing it -- whether you are new to this producer or a die-hard fan, TODAY is the day to grab it! While it lasts..!

About the Producer

When John and Karen Bergstrom began Bergstrom Wines, they wanted to start a business that would become a legacy for their children and pay tribute to John’s agricultural Swedish upbringing. With these dreams in mind, the couple moved from Portland to Dundee, where they planted the Bergstrom Vineyard on a gentle, 13-acre, south-facing slope overlooking the wide expanses of the Willamette Valley.
