Domaine Drouhin Roserock Pinot Noir Zepherine 2017 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 James Suckling -
This has a very impressive sense of density and power with such immaculate detail and definition, in terms of tannin and fruit. The aromas are in the spicy and floral zone with blue-fruit and leafy nuances. Deceptively elegant and convincingly excellent pinot noir. Drink across the next decade.
94 Wine Spectator -
A dynamic wine, showing both grace and structure, this opens like a flower bloom, revealing notes of raspberry, crushed stone, fresh violet and savory tea. Builds richness and tension toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2027.
94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2017 Zéphirine Pinot Noir is a selection of the best barrels from the Roserock vineyard. Pale to medium ruby-purple, it's scented of crushed boysenberries, blackberries, cranberries, bergamot and forest floor with touches of dried rose petals and violets. Medium-bodied and über silky, it offers great intensity and flavor layers, grainy and fresh with a long, layered finish.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
This is one of my favorite Oregon pinots, so consistently beautiful year in and year out. This wine sells out as soon as we get it in, and this year with another 96 point score and a couple 94s, we expect the same. Get some while we have it!

About the Producer

The Drouhin Family's winemaking roots run deep, having taken hold in Burgundy's best vineyards more than a century ago. Through the years, there has been a very clear link, a continuum, that inhabits Maison Joseph Drouhin, and now Domaine Drouhin Oregon. The Drouhin family started an estate winery in the Dundee Hills 30 years ago seeing great potential because of the striking correlation between the Willamette Valley and their home turf. They have now firmly established a lasting presence in the region where they craft elegant pinot noir and chardonnay, forged from their family's tradition of fine winemaking. Now celebrating 30 years in the Willamette Valley, the Drouhin Family has brought a wealth of hard-earned experience to their vineyards and have become a stalwart of the region.
