Silver Ghost Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Vinous -
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is ample, generous and inviting. Inky dark fruit, cloves, lavender, licorice, menthol and spice give the 2016 lovely shades of darkness that complement its mid-weight structure nicely. This elegant, gracious Cabernet has plenty to offer. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
LOAD. UP. 2016 Silver Ghost (named after the famed Rolls-Royce, read the story in our “About" section) at an unbelievable price -- we’ve been selling out of these deals a lot lately, don’t miss this one -- Napa Cab under $30 is a rarity, but with this score?!

Living and working here in the Napa Valley gives us a certain special advantage -- besides the verdant beauty, we know everyone, and a lot of good things can come from relationships. It was at this year's Premier Napa Valley Auction where we discovered this beauty. If you can stand out in THAT crowd you're doing something right, WOW!

Here is Antonio Galloni’s review: “...ample, generous and inviting. Inky dark fruit, cloves, lavender, licorice, menthol and spice give the 2016 lovely shades of darkness that complement its mid-weight structure nicely. This elegant, gracious Cabernet has plenty to offer. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so.”

This lovely 2016 (one of the greatest vintages in some time) is a jaw-dropping $29.95. Rich, warm, generous and packed with fruit and spice, it’s never heavy or overbearing -- just a fantastic, crowd-pleasing, immensely over-delivering bottle of Cabernet for our price today. While it lasts!

About the Producer

Silver Ghost founder Weston Eidson's great-grandfather, John Montagu, was an automobile pioneer at the turn of the last century. Being a British Lord and in Parliament, he was instrumental in much of the early automotive legislation and even gave the future Edward VII his first car ride (as seen in this photo). He was friends with Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, and his secretary served as the model for the Rolls-Royce hood ornament, the Spirit of Ecstasy, which we still see on Rolls-Royce cars today. Silver Ghost derives its name from John Montagu's favorite car, the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. And like its name, the wine itself is filled with layers of richness, culture and authenticity.
