Bevan Proprietary Red EE Tench 2017 - First Bottle

Reviews

98 Jeb Dunnuck -
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc from the redder iron soils in the center of the vineyard, the 2017 Tench Vineyard EE Red Wine is another incredible wine in this lineup. Deep purple/black-colored, with mineral-drenched notes of blackcurrants, ground herbs, earth, graphite, and crushed rocks, it has an "iron fist in a velvet glove" style on the palate, loads of tannins, good acidity, and a big finish.

About the Producer

Russell Bevan and Victoria de Crescenzo went from wine lovers in the dental business to one of the great success stories in the world of wine. Learning from greats like Philip Togni, Greg Lafollette, Jim Richards and Steve Lagier, Russell's career went quickly from a pipe dream to reality. It didn't take long until the duo was searching for property in their native California. After three years they found their dream home on eight acres of land in Bennett Valley, just a few miles from where Russell grew up. It only took one visit by Kal Showket to plant the seed that led to their estate vineyard. Little did they know that Kal would be key to many of the major changes in our lives from that point on. Later that year, the Showkets gave us a ton of Cabernet Sauvignon from their best block and the rest is history.
