Wolf Family Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2009

Cabernet Blends  |  US

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Direct from the winery, pristine and priced to bring a tear to the eye! 11 years old and drinking GORGEOUSLY -- a real treat for those who are in the know about Wolf Family, and a fine opportunity if you’re new to it! Mind-blow: we sold this wine for $90 back in 2012. Now at $65 with 11 years of age? Life is GOOD! Best to move quickly!

Wolf Family is a wine made by the talented Karen Culler and Mike Herby, and it was so small it never really hit most people's radar (until the 2002 scored a fat 96 points, anyway). However...I’ve been selling it from the beginning because I think it’s KILLER -- a Napa Valley version of Chateau Margaux, with its terrific structure and violet character. It’s from St. Helena, at the end of Inglewood Ave, in a drop-dead gorgeous spot with some pretty old vines as well. In fact...this property is now called SINEGAL, and those will run you about $200!! We were able to coerce a few cases of the fantastic 2009 out of them at an eye-popping price. You MUST have a few.

Super-rare. $64.95/btl. on 3???!! Madness!

Lush, harmonious, open-knit, packed with crushed flowers, wild blackberry, rich, sweet earth, tobacco, and a bit of mocha. Beautiful now, but will go another 5-10 years, oh yes.

About the Producer

Jane and Doug Wolf didn't come to Napa Valley to start a business. They came, like so many others, to enjoy good wine and good company in one of the most beautiful places on earth. That simple joy is what led them to buy their first property here in 1997; it's what lead them to plant the vines and harvest their first crop, to make a small vintage for sharing only among friends and family. One thing lead to another, and for the following 19 years, winemaking evolved from a small hobby into a true labor of love. Wolf Family Vineyards has remained small and family-owned throughout, never making more than 1000 cases per year, yet still earning high praise for the integrity of its wine.
