Once and Future Bedrock Vineyard Sonoma Valley 2016 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard gives up gloriously intense notes of baked cherries, stewed plums and blueberry compote with touches of underbrush, tilled soil, black tea, tobacco and rose hips. Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited in the mouth, it has a firm, grainy frame and a lively backbone, finishing very long and incredibly layered. 250 cases produced.

Once and Future Bedrock Vineyard Sonoma Valley 2016

Zinfandel Blends  |  US
WA96

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

Once and Future, which we are beyond thrilled to have a small allocation of, is the legendary Joel Peterson’s homage to his first love, Zinfandel, going back to 1976 when he started Ravenswood. That now-huge producer is long behind him, and this is his brilliant final act.

Bedrock, which Joel owns with his son Morgan, of course, is one of the great, coveted old-vine vineyards in California. Now at 131 years of age (wow!!) and planted to a staggering 27 varietals, mostly Zinfandel. A true old-vine aficionados wine.

At $49.95, with 96 points, we don't want to say much more!

About the Producer

Joel Peterson started Ravenswood in 1976 to focus on his love of Zinfandel. Once & Future is a continuation of Joel's early work at Ravenswood as he's returned to many of the original vineyards he used, Oakley, Sangiacomo, and Teldeschi, while also incorporating the famed Bedrock vineyard owned with his son Morgan Twain-Peterson and Palisades vineyard in Calistoga. An insider's wine for now, it won't take long for the word to get out... get in early!
