Clemens Busch Riesling Pundericher Marienburg Felsterrasse (Dry) 2016 - First Bottle

Reviews

98 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
From 90-year-old vines on gray slate, the 2016 Pundericher Marienburg Riesling Felsterrasse shows a pure, fresh and mineral nose with perfectly ripe and concentrated but not overly fruity mirabelle aromas. Full-bodied but with great finesse and elegance, this is a gorgeously salty, seemingly weightless and filigreed Riesling of mind-blowing complexity. The finish is enormously salty, precise and fresh. The 2016 is almost lean but terribly complex and elegant. A great, great dry Riesling from the Mosel. Tasted February 2018.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

This electrifying Riesling from one of the rockstars of the Mosel. Tasting this has made us take leave of absence from our senses, as this etherial and head-spinningly pure and delicious. Precision and purity are the two words that stick after a few hours of tasting this wine. Unbelievable stuff. 98 points from Wine Advocate with a great note is not to shabby, see the full review below.

About the Producer

Clemens Busch and his wife Rita took over the family business in 1984 and since have shaped it into one of the most iconoclastic estates in the Mosel. A firm believer that natural practices in the vines and cellar lead to the ultimate expression of terroir, Clemens exemplifies the balance between tradition and forward thinking we so look forward to when seeking out new producers. The majority of Clemens's production is grown on the extremely steep Pundericher Marienburg, a 25 hectare vineyard that spans an entire hillside exposed full South/Southwest. This incredible vineyard sits right on the edge of the river and is widely considered amongst the very best sites in the Mosel. 16 of the Clemens' hectares are here, with only 2 hectares originally inherited from his father.
