Clemens Busch (Dry) Riesling Pundericher Marienburg Fahrlay Reserve (stained label) 2016 - First Bottle

Reviews

97 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Aged for two years on the lees and bottled unfiltered, the 2016 Pundericher Marienburg Riesling Fahrlay Reserve is bright, pure and smoky on the nose that is beautifully refined and tropical, with fine slate and juniper aromas. Pure, straight and salty on the palate, this is a compact and tensioned Riesling with great purity, grip and lingering salinity. The finish is very long and crunchy, fresh and pure, with lots of energy and attractive astringency. Tasted in March 2019.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

We are the ONLY place in the USA to have this!!! This electrifying Riesling, one of the rockstars of the Mosel, has made us take leave of our senses for a bit it seems -- but MAN! You gotta get some!

The majority of Clemens' production is grown on the extremely steep Pundericher Marienburg, a 25 hectare vineyard that spans an entire hillside exposed full South/Southwest. This vertigo-inducing vineyard sits right on the edge of the river directly across from the village of Punderich, where it's expertly farmed biodynamically and is widely considered amongst the very best sites in the Mosel. We scored exactly 120 bottles (well, 108 after we got ours) of the stop-you-in-your-tracks Pundericher Marienburg Fahrlay Reserve (Dry) at an amazing price.

$59.95!  ***poof*** mind blown! FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED…!

About the Producer

Clemens Busch and his wife Rita took over the family business in 1984 and since have shaped it into one of the most iconoclastic estates in the Mosel. A firm believer that natural practices in the vines and cellar lead to the ultimate expression of terroir, Clemens exemplifies the balance between tradition and forward thinking we so look forward to when seeking out new producers. The majority of Clemens's production is grown on the extremely steep Pundericher Marienburg, a 25 hectare vineyard that spans an entire hillside exposed full South/Southwest. This incredible vineyard sits right on the edge of the river and is widely considered amongst the very best sites in the Mosel. 16 of the Clemens' hectares are here, with only 2 hectares originally inherited from his father.
