Harlan Estate 2010 (scuffed label) - First Bottle

Reviews

100 Vinous -
The 2010 Harlan Estate is a total head-turner. Powerful, dense and exotically ripe ? as so many wines are in this vintage ? the 2010 dazzles with magnificent intensity. Baritone inflections run through the black cherry, graphite, smoke, tar and licorice flavors. Heat spikes at the end of what was generally a cold growing season yielded wines that bring together structure and fruit density.
100 James Suckling -
Fascinating aromas of rock and dark fruits such as blueberries and blackberries. Transparency is fascinating. Full body, with wonderfully formed tannins that give tension and form to a perfect wine of incredible layers and depth. Reminds me of something like 1961 Latour - not that I tasted it young, but there's a classicism to it. Unmitigated purity to this wine. This will be so much better in 2020. Get the chance to try it.

I absolutely love the 2010 Harlan which highlights all the fantastic complexities of this cooler growing season. Incredible depth and complexity and one of my personal favorites from this glorious Oakville Estate. Anotonio Galloni lost his cool tasting this one saying it "dazzles with magnificent intensity. Baritone inflections run through the black cherry, graphite, smoke, tar and licorice flavors."
