Ambriel Classic Cuvee Sparkling Wine (England) NV - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Wine Enthusiast -
Wet stone and rounded yeast define the nose. The palate conveys a picture of utter harmony: the finest fizz conveys pure lemon freshness that sets off the creamy autolytic notes to perfection. This is grown up and serious, offering glimpses of both tart and ripe apple freshness and lasting appeal with its long fresh finish. It's pure class.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
ENGLISH BUBBLES! West Sussex, to be precise, about an hour from London. This just KNOCKED US OUT! Wow! Terrific high level of quality, hyper-cool factor (got a wine geek on your gift list??), and well-priced to say the least -- we are LOVING it tonight

“It's pure class.”
Arguably England’s finest sparkling wine house (we encourage you to Google it and check out the other critical acclaim and press on this winery), we are all abuzz about this here at the office (the employees are buying a lot of it!). Near the southern coast of England, this is perfect for sparkling wine production -- especially with a string of warmer growing seasons evident over the last decade.

Grown on a south facing slope of well-draining and heat-retaining Greensand soils that are very unique to this area, this is 100% estate grown and produced. You all know our fascination with Farmer Fizz around here, so this got our attention from the outset. Once you pop the cork however, the quality just oozes from the glass and the comparisons to Champagne are obvious. After all, they do share a very similar climate and geology (save these Greensand soils). This is a linear and racy style bubbly that bursts with citrus, green apple, and liquified rock, the finish is long and classy.  This is the perfect aperitif wine and one that might cause some brain rattling with this Oysters Moscow recipe.

Mix and match a six pack with some other Champagne for free ground shipping and let the debate ensue! $39.95! $239.70 a 6-pack w/ free ground shipping!

About the Producer

Charles and Wendy Outhwaite left established London careers to move to West Sussex and launch Ambriel in 2007.  After purchasing and carefully planting 25 vineyard acres directly adjacent to Nyetimber (one of the most established and renowned sparkling producers), critical acclaim followed their very first release and immediately established Ambriel as a leader and English sparkling reference point (not to mention producer of the best cost-per-point wine in the entire region).
