Nicolas Girard's father Alain bought their estate in Sancerre in 1973. Nicolas Girard has now taken over his father's 27 acres estate and, has sought to purchase some of his own land, for his personal label Nicolas Girard, however prices in Sancerre were out of reach for him, so he went to the up-and-coming Mentou Salon (not far from Sancerre) for a piece of that dream. Having traveled extensively throughout the wine world, Nicolas utilizes his knowledge and experience acquired to underpin the style of his classic wines.
