Distinctly Northern Rhone- like aromas of blackberry, minerals, gunflint and violet. Supple on entry, then quite suave in the middle, with spicy, peppery black fruit flavors nicely framed by harmonious acidity. Impressively deep, structured wine that really builds toward the back end. This has the lowest pH (3.67) and lowest alcohol (14.8%) of any of the Pax 2003 syrahs.
