Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
The Aubry sold out a bit faster than anticipated...SO...how about some Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs from Mesnnil for over half off? Thought so...just 84 bottles! Ready...GO! The Andre Jacquart house, located in Vertus, dates back four generations. The family owns a significant amount of vines in the Grand Cru “Mesnil” (through marriage), and this wine is the tete de cuvee -- a MUST at this jaw-dropping price today. This particular bottling, Mesnil Experience, is a no-dosage, no malolactic, 100% Grand Cru chardonnay (from Mesnil, of course), aged primarily in 70% used Burgundy barrels. The barrels add just the lightest dash of spice, and oxidative weight but the blazing acidity is what is most striking. This has been additionally aged post disgorment for addtional complexity and autolytic magic. In fact, while we don’t always do this, the winery tasting notes are beautifully written/translated, and we’d like to give you those, in addition to our HEARTY, HEARTY thumbs-up:

“Brilliant pale gold, persistent and fine bead. Smoky minerality reminiscent of Meursault Perrieres. Ethereal fruit, almost as though a food “foam” of granny smith apple and a bit of girolle mushroom. Light entry, again, like a fog or cloud, ethereal and light yet so expressive. Almost as though it had intensity of flavor without being wet. Laser-like focus of fruit, precise and defined flavors of Anjou pear, granny smith apple, chanterelles, almost like an infusion or tea of intense flavors with lively, creamy, and exceptionally refined bubbles. Elegant powerful, and yet light, almost dreamlike consistency. Long and longer.”

About the Producer

For four generations, the parents and grandparents of Andre Jacquart only produced Champagne grapes. In 1958 Andre Jacquart introduced a new spirit in the family, producing his own estate-bottled Champagne in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (Champagne Village classified Grand Cru). Since 2004, Champagne Andre Jacquart has been located in Vertus (Champagne Village classified Premier Cru). Major work was undertaken and the fifth generation, represented by Marie Doyard and her brother Benoit (the grandchildren of Andre Jacquart) stepped in to run the business and inspire it with their own philosophy. Interestingly, Marie and Benoit's paternal grandfather, Maurice Doyard, was instrumental in the creation of the AOC Champagne and the delimitation of its vineyard areas.
