Ramey Chardonnay Woolsey Road 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Wine Enthusiast -
This is a Martinelli family-farmed site, a mark of excellence and history that's hard to beat. Floral and textured, it is marked by bright focused acidity around a core of textured baked-apple flavor and hazelnut creme brulee. It tastes complete and complex, with undeniable richness and concentration.
95 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2015 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard has a wonderfully sexy nose of exotic spices, honeycomb and pear tart with suggestions of jasmine, brioche and nutmeg. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it has a compelling oiliness to the texture and loads of spicy accents, finishing with fantastic length and depth.
94 Jeb Dunnuck -
From a site just south of River Road, behind Martinelli on a north facing slope, the 2015 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is another rich, intense, full-bodied Chardonnay offering loads of tangerine oil, spice, and honeysuckle. It has bright acidity and a clean vibe, but packs beautiful fruit.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

David Ramey is the winemaker’s winemaker! Quite literally -- his Chard is on the cover of the latest Wine Spectator calling him “Professor Chardonnay”. We’ve been saying this since probably 2001 or so! The ‘15 is just a mind-blower -- we’d love to put it up against some $100+ Burgundy...maybe tonight come to think of it!

96 points, great price and just smashing juice -- fine, intense, layered, with racy, crisp acidity and crazy-complex flavor. We had to sample this bad boy right away and we were so blown away, we forgot to shoot the bottle first! Killer reviews -- some snippets...”rich, intense, full-bodied Chardonnay offering loads of tangerine oil, spice, and honeysuckle...wonderfully sexy nose of exotic spices, honeycomb and pear tart with suggestions of jasmine, brioche and nutmeg. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, it has a compelling oiliness to the texture and loads of spicy accents, finishing with fantastic length and depth...tastes complete and complex, with undeniable richness and concentration.”

PLEASE don’t miss this blockbuster. $59.95!

About the Producer

Ramey Wine Cellars was founded in 1996 by David Ramey and his wife Carla. After sixteen years making wine in Sonoma County, and firmly establishing Matanzas Creek and Chalk Hill wineries in the marketplace, David crossed the Mayacamas to spend six years in the Napa Valley–first as winemaker for Dominus Estate and project manager for the construction of their new winery; then helping Leslie Rudd reshape the Girard Winery into Rudd Oakville.
