The 2016 High Fidelity is a Cabernet Franc-based blend. Lifted, precise and nuanced, especially for such a big wine, High Fidelity is one of the very finest wines in the range. All the elements simply fall into place in this sumptuous, superbly balanced wine from Cliff Lede.

You’ve heard us GUSH about the superb 2016 vintage here in Napa (and it is truly a special one) and this Cliff Lede bottling is a prime example --- lavishly rich but STRUCTURED, LIFTED and very complex. Cabernet and Merlot hail from Lede’s Twin Peaks vineyard adjacent to the winery in Stags Leap District, and Cabernet Franc coming from none other than David Abreu’s coveted Madrona Ranch Vineyard in St. Helena. High Fidelity is a blend of the best lots from these two cherished sites.

(His resume includes Cain, Blankiet w/Helen Turley and Colgin to name a few): “While there are layers upon layers of black fig, black cherry, and warm plum flavors, there’s also a core of savory grilled steak and black truffle notes that reveal itself with time. A 'bouquet garni' of thyme, bay leaf, and sage lends subtle hints of savory herbs.  Ultra fine and precise, the cashmere-like tannins lend the wine an ethereal and exhilaratingly long, polished finish that goes on seemingly forever.”

About the Producer

Cliff Lede Vineyards was established in 2002 by Canadian born Bordeaux enthusiast, Cliff Lede, following the acquisition of a sixty acre estate in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. With a focus on producing wines from estate vineyards, Lede tapped David Abreu, considered the best viticulturist in Napa Valley, to replant the vineyards and also sources some of his top-notch fruit (not an easy thing to get access to!).
