Ellen Redding Pinot Noir Stubbs Vineyard Marin County 2016

Pinot Noir  |  US

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
This is about as unique a story as there is in the wine industry! Each tiny production vintage (only three barrels produced of the 2016) offers a taste of an incredible love story of Joseph McNeil, with actual love letters or envelopes used as the labels.

This wine is from the Stubbs vineyard which is organically farmed in Marin County, which is where this love story began and ended. This shows off a gorgeous earth-tinged cherry and cranberry profile with balanced tannin and a spice and forest floor flavored finish. It doesn't get much groovier than this for California pinot noir.

About the Producer

Named after the founder Patrick McNeil's grandmother, this bespoke label, which is unique to every vintage, pictures an actual letter sent to Ellen Redding by Patrick's grandfather. Joseph McNeil began his career as a commercial artist in San Francisco in the 1920s and courted Miss Redding via the U.S. Postal Service from 1925 until their wedding day on August 9th, 1928. Each new vintage and colorful envelope tells their story.
