Stormy Weather Cabernet Sauvignon Northern Gale 2015
TOO MANY reasons to buy this if you love big, hedonistic Cab -- killer vintage, ultra-scarce (we are one of a tiny handful to even HAVE any), the style you know and love, WA95, and, of course, our FANTASTIC PRICE -- $70 at the winery, $59.95 for you!
OK, so what’s it like, you ask? Opulent, dark, intense and lavishly spiced. Blackberry pie, mocha, tobacco, cigar box, Asian spices, black cherry juice. Huge and mouth-coating and lingers on your palate for about 4 hours, it seems. A MUST at this price if this is the kind of juice that hits all your buttons!
Just as a data point...take a look at a small sampling of the other Napa Valley Cabernet-based wines with a 95-point Wine Advocate score...and then look at the price...
Larkmead The Lark 2015 -- $350
Morlet Morlet Estate 2015 -- $275
Marciano Estate 2015 -- $240
Michael Mondavi M by Mondavi 2015 -- $200
Kapcsandy Estate Cuvee 2015 -- $150
Alas, it is extremely limited...we have just a no-brainer price, too!About the Producer
Stormy Weather is the brainchild of Cameron Woodbrige, brother of the larger-than-life Jayson Woodbrige of Hundred Acre fame. Cameron worked alongside his brother and Philipe Melka, who consulted for Hundred Acre at the time, starting in 2005. It was there that he honed his skills and developed a serious love for the industry. So much so, that he decided to start his own project, so with the 2006 vintage in Napa, Stormy Weather was born.
