Wolf's Head Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Jeb Dunnuck -
These wines are made by Cameron Woodbridge, who's also behind the terrific Stormy Weather wines, also reviewed in this report. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Wolf's Head (28 months in just 29% new French oak) has a kiss of sweet oak as well as beautiful creme de cassis fruit and spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced feel on the palate. Elegance and seamless are the buzzwords, but this beauty has tons of fruit and richness as well and tastes like it cost 2-3 times its listed price. Drink it any time over the coming 15 years or so.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Crazy good pricing upon release (seriously, the quality to price ratio is off-the-charts to begin with). $49.95 a bottle on 3 or more and free shipping! For a 96 point Napa Cab! @$#*!

OK, ok -- we’re really stoked on this offer. If you remember some weeks back, we sold A LOT of a Cabernet called Stormy Weather, made by Jayson Woodbridge's brother Cameron. Cameron has a second project, as we discovered, that he makes with a few oenophile-inclined friends, called Wolf’s Head. It is the same pedal-to-the-metal style you know and love, but at a better price point. And OUR price? The best you will find (especially figuring in FREE SHIPPING on 3!)

One last note: THIS IS NOT FOR THE SHY! This is BIG, intense, hedonistic, sappy, extracted and lavishly French-oak endowed Cabernet Sauvignon! So if you love a light, elegant red, DON't BUY THIS!

First come, first served…!

About the Producer

It all started with a crazy idea amongst a group of oenophile friends to start a winery in California. That crazy idea became a reality with the purchase in late 2012 of 120 acres of unplanted land in Napa. The Wolf’s Head name came about when they realized that the perimeter of the property was shaped like a wolf’s head!

Wolf’s Head family of wines aims to produce something exceptional yet at a price point that anyone can afford. With the winemaking of Cameron Woodbridge (formerly of Hundred Acre, brother of winemaker Jayson Woodbridge and the creator of the renowned Stormy Weather Napa Valley Cabernet) they are doing just that.
