About the Producer
The Ott family, entrenched in the wine realm of Wagram, Lower Austria, has been devoted to winemaking since 1889. Bernhard Ott, now in the fourth generation, assumed command of the winery in 1993, steering it towards producing top-tier wines. His journey started at 21, aspiring to showcase the potential of Grüner Veltliner from loess soil, specifically the Rosenberg vineyard, as elegant, enduring wines. Bernhard's evolution included replacing old wooden casks with stainless steel, committing to high-quality vineyard practices. In 2018, after three decades, he diversified vinification with varying sizes of Stockinger fuders. Embracing biodynamic viticulture in 2007 through Respekt, and inspired by tradition, he employs minimal intervention, hand-harvesting, and careful maceration in the press, ultimately crafting some of Austria's finest wines.
