Hartwell Cabernet Sauvignon Etched Stags Leap District Napa Valley 1990 (Jeroboam 3L) - First Bottle

Reviews

92 Robert Parker's Wine Advcoate -
Dark ruby/purple color exhibits considerable saturation and suggests admirable richness. The bouquet jumps from the glass, offering up jammy aromas of blackcurrants, minerals, spice, and subtle new oak. This impressively built wine possesses great richness, full body, adequate acidity, and layers of concentrated fruit. Although soft enough to be consumed, its exceptional concentration, balance, and intensity suggest it will last for a minimum of two decades.

This is an unbelievable bottling of Hartwell. It was one of the few vintages where Hartwell used the Grace Family vineyard for the wine. At this price???!!!! Party on, Wayne.

About the Producer

Hartwell vineyards were founded in 1986 when Bob Hartwell purchased 90 acres of Wappo Hill in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. Their inaugural vintage was in 1990 that sold out immediately and they have since established their reputation for fine Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate is now owned by Realm Cellars principals Beonoit Touquette, Juan Mercado and Scott Becker with consulting work by Michel Rolland.
