Markus Molitor Riesling (Off-Dry) Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett Gold Capsule 2020 - First Bottle

93 James Suckling -
Fresh and subtle nose of peach, chalk and garden herbs. Succulent and racy with medium-dry balance, this Mosel Kabinett has a ton of mineral freshness and energy at the long finish. Drink or hold.
92+ Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2018 Riesling Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett (Golden Capsule) opens with an intense and flinty yet still reductive, sulfuric bouquet with herbal and warm, ripe fruit aromas. Mouth-fillingly round as well as precise on the palate, this is a crystalline and razor-sharp Würzgarten Kabinett with a still tight and closed (sulfuric) finish. Promising but asking for patience. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.

Markus Molitor Riesling (Off-Dry) Ürziger Würzgarten Kabinett Gold Capsule 2020

Riesling  |  Germany
JS93, WA92+

We just popped a bottle and this might be the best pairing for indian curry night on our shelves. Soft sweetness, a complex mineral bouquet, crushed silex, ripe melon notes with precision and cut on the palate. These wines just deliver everything we want out of great riesling.

About the Producer

In 1984, at the tender age of 20, Markus Molitor took over his father's winery with a clear aim: to produce Mosel Rieslings under the name "Molitor" in the tradition of eight generations and in the same quality that made the region world-famous 100 years ago. The wines are terroir-specific, unmistakable and extremely age able. One of our favorite Mosel producers here at First Bottle! The approx. 62 hectare steep slope facing south to south-east has a unique red slate weathered soil with a high proportion of rock, which is rarely found on the Moselle. Due to the special soil, wines from the Urziger Wurtzgarten are extremely fine-spicy, fruity, wonderfully full-bodied with a fine interplay of acids and a clear structure.
