We love finding out about a stellar new wine from right here in our own backyard. CourAvant, a Saint Helena-born estate cabernet sauvignon and merlot blend from Gary and Sharon Lessing, is a prize to behold and one we’re sure has a great future. That we are able to be first to market with this is a treat...especially at 20% BELOW the release price! This wine is now sold out at the Estate, so you will only find this here!

Sharon and Gary Lessing fulfilled their Napa Valley dream, purchasing a tiny Saint Helena estate, with vines planted on prime benchland in the heart of Napa Valley. The vines were originally planted in the early 90s, at a Left Bank Bordeaux mix of two-thirds cabernet sauvignon and one-third merlot. The vines are thoughtfully tended by longtime vineyard guru Mario Bazan (Joseph Phelps, Robert Mondavi, Opus One, and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars), who has spent nearly three decades managing some of Napa’s most iconic vineyard sites.

This explosive, young wine leaps out the gate with a medley of red currants, cherries, and blackberries – elegantly framed by gentle notes of new oak, with a panoply of spices ranging from black pepper to clove and cinnamon. The wine is soft, with an old-world character to it, where bright acidity and terroir-driven sensations carry the wine into a nuanced and complex finish. Again, just a tremendous first effort, and one worthy of any fine Napa Valley estate. Super-limited, so don’t delay!
