The 2015 Chardonnay Nancie was aged in French barrels for 11 months, 20% new, and did not go through malolactic. It opens with a nose of ripe nectarines, pineapples and guava with underlying notes of butterscotch, cedar and brioche. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly fruited with plenty of vivacity, delivering intense tropical and stone fruit flavors plus a satiny texture and long finish, with a little cedar poking through.

The 2015 Chardonnay Nancie emerges from a number of sites in Sonoma County. The flavors are intense and creamy, and yet the wine remains medium in body. Here, too, the wine delivers considerable fruit intensity and richness, but without excess weight. Hints of butter, orange peel, mint and flowers shape the inviting finish.

Named after Joe Donelan's mother, this is beautiful Chardonnay. It finds the perfect balance between texture and richness while retaining freshness and a mid-weight body. Sourced from 2 Bennett Valley Vineyards, a Russian River and a Sonoma Coast site, and lastly their Estate vineyard in Knights Valley. While Donelan may not be known for their Chardonnay, it won't be long until the cat is out of the bag!

About the Producer
Joe Donelan began his journey of wine discovery in the 1980s, led by an inspired sommelier at Toppers Restaurant on Nantucket. His love of wine soon led him on a journey to California, where he established a wine business that is now called Donelan Family Wines. Today, Donelan is sold primarily through their mailing list and the rest graces the tables of the finest restaurant lists across the country.
