Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Blanc Les Romains 2018 (Magnum 1.5L)
Sauvignon Blanc | France
$124.95 - 1.5L
Domaine Vacheron is one of Sancerre’s elite. Completely biodynamic farming with some of the most coveted parcels in the appellation. Vacheron utilizes a Burgundian approach to Sancerre winemaking, with parcels vinified by terroir and blends varying from year to year. Primarily a “silex” producer, almost all of Vacheron’s holdings are on this hard, minerally soil type. These long-aging Sancerre bottlings shine in their youth, with all the components required to age gracefully over a decade or more.
The vineyard of Les Romains sits on an elevated site 320 meters above sea level. The vines are 60+ years of age, nestled in the shards of mineral-laden flint. The wine showcases this classic element of terroir in the aromas with ethereal gunsmoke, followed with an enticing flavor profile of bright and piquant grapefruit, lemongrass, bartlett pear and sea spray. Get enough to drink now and over the coming decade.
