Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
There are only a few winemakers in Napa with a resume back to the early 70s like Ric’s -- still making their own wines by hand, every vintage (Philip Togni comes to mind...Heidi Barrett..Randy Dunn...) for decades, and ALWAYS nailing it. The ‘18 is SUPERB, just read Galloni’s review!
Ric’s label was founded in 1983, after an impressive run as a groundbreaking winemaker at Sterling and Newton, Duckhorn and co-founder of Abreu Vineyard and winery. The winery is located at the base of Howell Mountain, overlooking the town of St. Helena. Ric crafts age-worthy wines from vine to bottle. His “European” approach is clear in his wines that are known for their unobstructed terroir expression and ability to improve with age.
We have a small allocation today...grab enough to cellar for a few decades! VERY limited!
PAIRING IDEAS: It’s hard to go wrong with steak, of course. Try this one -- extra-hedonistic with butter, a few slices will be all you need to be transported…! Recipe here.
MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: Remember the movie Rushmore? Check out the soundtrack -- good stuff!
