Marc Hebrart Selection Premier Cru Extra Brut NV - First Bottle

Reviews

92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Disgorged in May 2020, the latest release of the NV Extra-Brut Premier Cru Selection is showing well, exhibiting aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, peach and fresh pastry. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly layered and precise, it's charming and beautifully refined, with a somewhat more chiseled profile reflecting Hebrart's move from Brut to Extra-Brut for this bottling.

"Celebrate good times, come on!" -- Kool & The Gang. Hebrart is one of the most popular Champagnes on Earth for a reason -- 34 acres most notably in the grand cru villages of Ay, Chouilly and Oiry, but also some excellent premier cru holdings, and rock-solid consistency and excellence. It’s fully at the top of many a sommelier and savvy bubbly drinker’s “GO TO”, especially these lower dosage bottlings. It’s extremely well-priced Premier Cru (especially today, right - best price in the country by $10!), and delivers BIG time.We like the much-respected Champagne critic Peter Liem’s quote:

“Hébrart’s wines have a broad appeal: if you like to think about your wines, they’re intellectually engaging enough to satisfy you; on the other hand, if you’re just looking to drink, they’re simply delicious. The wines are full and generous without being weighty, complex and soil-driven without being demanding. Overall, the entire range is of consistently high quality, and represents excellent value for the money.”

Champagne lovers -- this one’s a no-brainer. 40 CASES TO SELL and that’s it!

PAIRING IDEAS: Chicken with dijon mustard sauce -- packed with flavor and easy. Here’s a recipe. We eat this or a version of it often at the house (with a bottle of Hebrart, of course!).

MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: We're rocking out to the Kool & The Gang station to go with the theme of today! "Jungle Boogie" was the first song to play. There was definitely a little dancing in the office...
