Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

If you’re new to the wonders of Valpolicella “Ripasso”, here's a quick primer! After their powerhouse Amarone wine is created, the leftover dried grape skins and such (aka pomace) are strained off and added to Valpolicella Classico. This enables the fermenting wine to have richer, spicier, more intense flavors. In the terrific 2018 vintage, you’ll know instantly what we love so much – this just crazy overdelivers!

Three generations of family-run artistry from the hills above Verona define the Magnabosco family, and we are so happy we met them some years ago and started importing their wonderful, soulful wines.

This has all the lush, spicy, warming spice flavors of Amarone, but it’s lighter on its feet while packing in so much flavor and nuance. CAUTION --- this is oh-so easy to drink...and keep drinking. We love that it avoids the heaviness of Amarone, and the PRICE TAG! Deep black cherry, sweet tobacco leaf, espresso and toffee, with an array of spices and cinnamon galore, all without being heavy. Wonderful. Delightful. Fresh and instantly happy-making - we promise!

PAIRING IDEAS: Glazed ham! We got ours from Snake River, and we keep going back to this recipe for the crunchy, rich, buttery glaze. Sometimes, we switch it up with Sauternes, or even a little sweet sherry...feel free to mess around with it!

MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: Captivate the senses with some of Tom Petty’s greatest hits, like “Mary Jane’s Last Dance" or "Refugee"! You can never go wrong with Valpolicella and Petty.

About the Producer

Three generations have handed down the precious art of wine-making, born from a love for their land and their roots, together with the knowledge that it is only through hard work, drive, and determination that the best results can be obtained. In the hills, vine-grower Gino Magnabosco, together with his family, carry on this very passion that traditions have handed down. They are attentive to any new improvement in grape producing technology in order to guarantee wine of the best quality to represent the area in which it is produced. Along side his family, winemaker Gino Magnabosco is part of the third generation to run the estate. They believe that hard work, drive and determination are key to obtaining the best results from their land. Maintaining, nourishing and cherishing the land of their ancestors is of utmost importance. And although not certified, they farm using organic practices and an environmentally friendly approach to both viticulture and vinification.
