Lail Sauvignon Blanc Blueprint Napa Valley 2017 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Vinous -
Robin Lail's 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Blueprint is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, crisp and beautifully delineated, with tons of varietal character, the Blueprint screams with varietal character. This is such a classy and polished wine. The 2017 is a real overachiever. Vineyard sources are Totem, Farella and Rewa.
93 Wine Spectator -
Aromatic and distinctive, with rich notes of honeycomb, coconut oil and lanolin that give way to fresh apricot and mango flavors, freshened by a crisp jolt of acidity akin to a squeeze of lime juice. Despite the lush, refined flavors and smooth body, the finish is pure refreshment, lingering endlessly. Drink now. 1,065 cases made.
93 Wine Enthusiast -
“Always impressive, this is a fleshy, boldly structured white wine, offering a tremendous palate of exotic flavor. Lemon rind, wet stone, peach and a grittiness of background oak mingle effortlessly within a moderate richness of balanced complexity.”

There is so much to say about the wonderful, fascinating and generous Robin Lail, her history in the Valley, and her winemaker Philippe Melka that we would need a REALLY long web page to pack it all in. Here’s a link to Wine Cellar Insider, which summarizes it well enough. I suspect most of you reading this are pretty well-informed from our many years of selling these incredible wines anyway, but just in case. Robin as a person is just a force of nature, and we are so proud to offer this today. Robin and Philippe's 2017 Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc is so expressive and stylish I literally just loaded up a case into my trunk. It is mouth-watering, weighty and rich, and really does deliver a luxury experience for the money giving the best SB's of Napa a run for their money.

About the Producer

Robin Daniel Lail’s heritage began in 1879 with the founding of Inglenook Vineyards by her great-granduncle, the iconic Captain Gustave Niebaum. Robin is a legend, helping found Dominus and Merryvale, she is one of the most influential woman in Napa Valley history and remains that way to this day. She saw the talent in a young Philippe Melka and hired him as winemaker, it was one of his very first gigs in Napa and has remained at the helm of winemaking ever since.
