Domaine Marius Delarche Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc Les Belles Filles 2019

All the cool kids are drinking Delarche, and they have been (quietly) for some time. It’s a wine that drinks at or above the level of MUCH pricier Burgundy, as it is hiding behind the noble Hill of Corton! 2019 has EVERYTHING! It is one of the highest quality vintages I have tasted since the 2002 vintage, and may even surpass that great vintage. The wines have intense concentration due to the lower yields with incredible purity and aromatic excellence. They are ripe, savory, fresh and echo-deep, with an energy and complexity that seems to come together at every level from villages, all the way up to Grand Cru. In short, this is THE Burgundy vintage to hoard and cellar and savor.

This wine is simply stunning for under $40! Lemon curd, Bartlett pear, crushed rock, and white smoke all swirl in the glass. The flavors are nicely concentrated and packed with loads of citrusy acidity and tons of minerality for a wine of this level!
