Chateau de Marsannay Les Champs Perdrix Blanc 2017 (Magnum 1.5L)
White Burgundy for a steal! We love it. If you love the somewhat more opulent style of Chardonnay, and don’t love paying in the $200 range, we got you today...while it lasts! 96 POINTS!
Chateau de Marsannay has a rich history in Burgundy. Olivier Halley, Chateau de Marsannay’s owner, is one of the Great Patrons and Founders of Climats de Bourgogne Association classified by UNESCO as part of the World Heritage. Based in Marsannay, the domaine owns vines in a wealth of the top terroirs across the Cote with plots in Chambertin, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echezeaux, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Bel-Air and Champeaux and Vosne-Romanée en Orveaux.
Today's missive checks all the boxes for us - we simply have not seen a value like this in white Burgundy in years! The Master Somm and Master of Wine on the Decanter World Wine Awards blind tasting panel agreed, and scored this wine the same as Xavier Monnot Mersault Charmes 1er Cru and Domaine Vougeraie Clos Vougeot Blanc 1er Cru! These were the highest rated white Burgs of the entire competition, where 14,917 bottles were tasted by the panel! Let me remind you, today's wine is $39.95! Put some of this in your cellar now -- steals like this don’t come around often enough!
PAIRING IDEAS: Get one of these inexpensive stovetop smokers and some fresh trout fillets, and you’ll have an easy, fast, delicious dinner. Cut a lemon in half, and grill or sear it, squeeze, and boom you’re done!
MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: The Who. “Who’s Next” should be a fine accompaniment for this rocking, electric white!
