Chateau d'Yquem Ygrec Y 2013 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Wine Spectator -
This stunning white offers a rich display of mango and papaya flavors, gilded with peach, lemon curd and tangerine notes, all allied to a gorgeously creamy mouthfeel. Shows an extra honeyed edge, with white ginger and heather details stretching out. Despite the overall opulence, a hint of citrus oil underscores the finish for cut and vibrancy. Drink now through 2025.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
The dry white from Chateau d'Yquem is a wine that is in a category all its own. The 2013 vintage, an excellent year in the Sauternes/Barsac region produced a dry white of epic proportions. Check out the 96 point review from Wine Spectator below, we did get an extra kick of candied ginger that they did not pick up, which added to the complexity and intrigue. We have just 9 bottles available of this rare white from this legendary 1st growth Chateau.

About the Producer

The history of Château d’Yquem is like a novel, an epic saga full of events and colourful personalities spanning more than four centuries. Chateau d’Yquem is not only the most famous chateau in Sauternes today, the estate has possessed an exalted reputation dating back to the middle ages when d’Yquem was owned by the King of England. Today the estate is owned by the infamous luxury brand Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton who have made significant re-investment into the property. Yquem is in a class of their own, quite literally, in the classification of 1855, it was given a unique classification of Premier Cru Superieur", because it so clearly stood above all other Chateau.
