Rossi Wallace Pinot Noir Atlas Peak 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

92 Vinous -
The 2014 Pinot Noir is sleek, perfumed and super-expressive, with a gorgeous sense of translucency and weightlessness in its sweet, perfumed fruit. The Rossi-Wallace Pinot emerges from fruit sourced from the Antinori family's vineyard on Atlas Peak. In the past, I have found the wine a bit weak and lacking in depth. The 2014 is the first vintage I can recall with real substance, not to mention pedigree. This is a superb showing, especially considering the price.

About the Producer

Ric Forman knows winemaking and Cheryl Emmolo knows rootstock. Both have a rich history in Napa Valley. Ric has been working in the vineyards and in the cellars of many famous wineries for 40 years including: Stony Hill Winery, Newton Vineyard, Sterling Vineyards, Inglenook, just to name a few. Cheryl grew up studying vines, where her father Frank Emomolo, owned one of the largest rootstock and nursery buisness in California. Cheryl started her own brand, Emmolo Wines, but has since passed it down to her children. Both have similar passions and when they married they decided to share in a project, hence creating Rossi-Wallace. They wanted to produce a Burgundian style Pinot Noir and craft it their way in small quantities without the complications of over-ripeness or excessive oak.
