95 James Suckling -
Read
Impressive nose with leather, dark polished fruit and flowers. Wonderful mouthfeel with soft silky tannins and beautiful texture. Really well put together. Powerful and rich with loads of fruit and ripe tannins. Very ripe. Try in 2016

About the Producer
Chateau Malartic Lagraviere was originally purchased at the end of the 18th century by the family of the Count Hippolyte de Maures de Malartic, an admiral who served in the French navy. His legacy is commemorated with an 18th century ship on the wine label. It was one of only six chateaux to have both of its red and white wines classified in the 1959 Graves classification. The Chateau changed ownership a couple times but was purchsed by the Bonnie family in 1997. With the help of famous architect Bernard Mazieres and consulting winemaker Michel Rolland, they have built the winery into a modern facility with all new equipment.
